Wine Tours by coach
Our wine tours by coach are a very convenient way of wine touring and we do everything possible along the way to make the journeys enjoyable and comfortable. We appreciate that many of our clients are not traditional “coach tour” travellers. Neither are we! There is a maximum of 30 or 32 participants on a coach that would normally accommodate up to 48, leaving empty seats for you to spread out if you wish. Our Tour Manager serves complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits on the way and there is an enjoyable, informative introductory wine tasting on the journey to the first night’s stop. Of course, you also avoid the many queues at busy airports with this kind of trip, and someone else does all the navigating and driving, so no need to worry about whose turn it is to map read or drive!
You can bring back generous quantities of wines bought direct at excellent cellar-door prices (up to 3 cases and sometimes more) which is of course impossible by plane. Wine visits are chosen from a range of quality domaines and Houses that you can buy at.
The accommodation on each trip is at smaller 3* family run hotels in beautiful towns and villages and chosen to be well placed for the vineyards and to make it possible to offer an over all good value trip.
For our 2008 programme we are offering three short coach breaks to regions that can be reached in a day’s journey and which include just one change of hotel. All three trips are half-board equivalent, but meals are not just at the hotel, they vary from good local restaurants, to wine estates, and from simple buffets to four course dinners On non-included evenings our team advise on restaurants and there is always an invitation to join either of them for supper for a convivial evening.
The trips are very suitable for clients travelling on their own as everyone shares a common interest. The parties are sociable and a glass of wine soon gets everyone chatting! On these three tours we are able to offer two single rooms without supplement. If you would be happy in a single room (as opposed to a double room for sole occupancy which is what the supplement covers) then do book very early.
Finally, coach touring is environmentally friendly compared with other forms of travel! So, there is much to recommend wine touring by coach with A&C!
