Arblaster & Clarke Independent Opera Offers – Andrea Bocelli in Carmen

Arblaster & Clarke obtained only a handful of much sought after tickets to what promised to be a fabulous evening of Opera, starring Andrea Bocelli in June 2008. Andrea starred as Don Jose in Bizet’s Carmen at Rome’s Teatro dell’Opera. Hungarian mezzo Ildiko Komlosi also starred as Carmen.

The Opera short holiday included three nights in the 5* luxe Hotel Bernini Bristol which is centrally located and has spectacular views out over the Trevi Fountain, Piazza di Spagna, the Centro Storico and towards the Vatican.

About Carmen: This French Opera by Georges Bizet is set in the mid 19th century in Seville in Southern Spain and tells the tragic love story of Don José and his ensnarement by Carmen away from his fiancée Micaela. It features the superb overture as well as the rousing March of the Toreadors and the Habanera.

The Opera House (which is located close to Via del Viminale) is within walking distance of the hotel and there are many restaurants opens for either a pre or post opera supper en route.
