Milan & Reggio Emilia Independent Opera Holiday

Arblaster and Clarke are very pleased to offer this independent Opera holiday based in Reggio Emilia and Milan; with tickets for the wonderful Opera house of La Scala to see Russian Soprano Maria Guleghina in the title role of Turnadot by Puccini and Rigoletto by Verdi in Reggio Emilia.
Whilst staying in Reggio Emilia for the first two days it is a short train journey across to Parma – where one local saying is “Il Maiale e come la musica di Verdi: tutto buono, niente da buttar via” – The pig is like the music of Verdi: it’s all good, there is nothing to throw away! Parma itself is a beautiful and prosperous city, where, when you are not busy enjoying the wonderful food, you should visit the stunning 12th century dodecahedron Baptistry.
In Rigoletto at Reggio Emilia the cast are Roberto Frontali, Ekaterina Sadovnikova and Eric Cutler.
La Scala is arguably the world’s greatest Opera venue has without doubt had its dramas over the past few years with political wrangles, a star tenor walking out mid perfomance and the occasional strike. This should not over-shadow the fact that there have also been many triumphant, emotional and sublime performances too. There is always something really thrilling about sitting down to watch a great opera at La Scala.
On our second evening, we are privileged to have first class tickets to Rigoletto at the Valli Theatre in Reggio Emilia conducted by Diego Matehuz. Travelling on to Milan we are fortunate enough to have tickets to Turandot by Puccini at the world’s most famous opera house, La Scala in Milan.
