The Sunday Times Wine Club Party in Venice
22 - 25 June 2008
We are extremely excited about the main Club overseas event for 2008. Possibly the most romantic of all trains, our journey begins at London Victoria where we board the British Pullman Carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Greeted on board by a glass of Club Champagne, we then travel through the beautiful Kent Countryside towards Folkestone, where you will board luxurious coaches for the short journey through Le Shuttle.
As we arrive in France, we board the famous blue & gold Continental Carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express as we head across France towards Paris. That evening you will dine aboard in the company of your fellow Club members with a selection of magnificent Club Wines.
The following day is on board the train relaxing to enjoy the comfort of your compartment whilst the spectacular scenery passes by - from the Swiss Alps, stopping in Innsbruck just before lunch is served in the restaurant car paired with yet more Club wines, the afternoon will be whiled away as the train journeys through the Dolomites down to Verona and arriving in Venice in the early evening.
Once in Venice, there is a selection of Hotels we have chosen for your enjoyment from the opulent Cipriani in the Venetian Lagoon, to well situated Four Star and Five Star.
Our first evening will be a Private Dinner in Venice where we will be joined by two of our Italian wine producers for a selection of wines with dinner. Tuesday will be free time for you to explore Venice. The evening is another highlight of this event, when we cross the Lagoon to dine in the spectacular setting that is the Ciprani Hotel, here their renowned Italian Chefs have devised a menu of northern Italian Specialities which will be paired with a wonderful selection of Italian Wines.
There are just a handful of cabins still available, so do call to reserve your places as soon as possible, confirmed bookings only are now being accepted.
